Art Deco macassar ebony & bakelite bird "vesta"

This is such a great object! Made in macassar ebony with a cherry bakelite beak and large orange & black glass eyes, I think that this bird is in effect a vesta. It has 19 holes along the top of the head for matches and a circle of shagreen set one side for striking the matches. The bird is not marked but the quality of the manufacture, the way the bakelite beak joins seamlessly to the head and the attention to detail suggest that this is a YZ bird produced by Henry Howell and Company Ltd during the 1920s-30s. The only issue that I have is with the eyes - they appear to be correct/original but I am not fully certain.
